| DON'T BE FOOLED !! Other tactical software, at any price, offers very little in the way of "tactical" computations !! Other programs do at most two computations: (1) optimal routing, by an old technique that offers minimal information; and (2) a 'what-if" function, which at best computes time to a layline. Neither of these functions produce meaningful results in local or shoreline racing, because they ignore (or cannot incorporate) tidal-currents. In short-distance racing, the optimal tack and course are entirely a function of differential currents. |

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Each download link corresponds to an "EXE" file that you "save" or "copy" to a temporary folder on your PC. For example, for the San Francisco Region (ONLY), the file is SF07F2.EXE. DO NOT "OPEN" THE DOWNLOAD FILE ON THE INTERNET. Once you have the "EXE" file on your hard drive, run it by doubleclicking on the file name in Windows Explorer, or use 'Run' on the PC's Start menu. This will: (1) create a temporary folder on your hard drive to hold setup files, (2) unzip the installation files to that folder, and (3) perform the program installation. Click 'Unzip' on the form that appears, then 'Close' when you are told the file extraction is complete. The rest of the install runs automatically. The default name for the installation folder is C:\LOCKNOW. You can change this by editing the program destination during the installation process. However, do not use a folder name or any folder name in the path longer than 8 characters. Force 2 is easy to learn and operate, with context-sensitive 'Help' (F1 key) and a FAQ topical list found under 'Tips and How-to' on its Help Menu. |
